## What is Pawssier?

Pawssier is a SaaS platform and developer API that uses AI to parse, standardize, and share pet care records. Pet owners, veterinary clinics, and pet care businesses upload PDFs, scans, or photos of vaccination certificates, invoices, EU pet passports, rabies certificates, medical exam summaries, lab reports, and microchip registrations. Pawssier returns clean, structured JSON with the pet's identity (name, species, breed, sex, date of birth, weight, microchip number), the clinic (name, address, phone, country), the attending veterinarian (with credentials), every vaccination administered (name, manufacturer, lot, route, administered date, due date, expiration), medications, lab results, treatments, exemptions, and upcoming care reminders.

## How it works

1. Upload a document (PDF, JPEG, PNG, HEIC) via the web app, the partner API, or the Pawssier browser extension.
2. Azure Document Intelligence extracts text, tables, and layout. A multi-stage pipeline (vision pre-processing, document segmentation, classification, structured extraction, normalization, validation) turns raw OCR into typed clinical records.
3. A 27-language lexicon system standardizes vaccine names, manufacturers, breeds, species, sex, weight, address formats, and clinical terminology so a German Nobivac certificate and a Japanese 犬の名前 form produce the same canonical schema.
4. Cross-cutting validators check date plausibility, owner/vet/clinic identity, microchip format, and travel-compliance currency (rabies status, EU passport completeness).
5. Structured results land in the user's pet profile and can be shared via secure PIN-protected links, downloaded as PDFs, or pushed to integrated partner systems.

Vaccine brand names, manufacturers, address formats, postal codes, phone formats, honorifics, and clinical terminology are all locale-aware.

## Privacy and data retention

Parsed record data is purged after 24 hours by default (7 days in sandbox). Writebacks to partner systems require a 0.75 confidence floor — lower-confidence rows are surfaced for human review rather than auto-filed. All access is row-level-security-scoped to the document owner.

## API for partners

Pawssier exposes a REST API at the `/v1/parse` endpoint. Partners send a document (multipart upload or URL), receive a job ID, and poll for the parsed PSRF (Pawssier Standard Record Format) payload. The API returns confidence scores per field, telemetry on every validator that fired, and review flags for records that need human attention. Pet care records live in dozens of incompatible PMS systems (ezyVet, AVImark, Cornerstone, ImproMed, IDEXX Neo, Vetspire, Provet Cloud, and many regional systems), printed on paper, photographed in vet booklets, or scribbled on invoices. Owners moving cities, traveling internationally, switching vets, or boarding their pet have to manually re-key the same information over and over. Errors lead to missed boosters, denied airline boarding, and rejected travel paperwork. Pawssier replaces that manual re-keying with AI that reads the documents you already have and produces a single, trustworthy, up-to-date record.
